SDI Media, the world’s leading provider of dubbing and subtitles to the entertainment industry, is looking for two individuals that possess excellent written Spanish skills, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Candidates must be native speakers of Spanish and must pass a written Spanish translation test in our Culver City office to be considered.
The two open positions are Spanish Closed-Caption Editor and Spanish Production Scheduler. Here is a brief summary of each position.
SPANISH CLOSED-CAPTION EDITOR
The Spanish Closed-Captioner will spot, simulate and proof film-related content for any/all of the following mediums: DVD, Broadcast, streaming media, dubbing, gaming and corporate projects. The successful applicant will be able to do the following:
- Complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner
- Possess the aptitude to learn and keep up-to-date with the caption-centric computer program Swift, as well as ancillary CC/DVD programs
- Able to apply studio subtitle protocols as needed and adhere to all special instructions
- Work well under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Be proactive and communicate problems/issues/developments effectively to supervisor, peers, and/or internal staff as needed
- Assist with other duties in department as needed
- Attend departmental or other meetings as directed
- Create regular feedback for peers
SPANISH PRODUCTION SCHEDULER
The Production Scheduler will schedule QC work as required for the Spanish team. The scheduler is also responsible for confirming and tracking all projects so that employees and contractors deliver work within the given deadlines. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Schedule all QC work for Spanish
- Follow up as necessary on all elements to ensure that files are ready for delivery as scheduled
- Maintain employee and contractor schedules so that work is assigned efficiently with the available resources
- Attending production meetings as required
- Prioritizing work loads to meet production due dates
- Adhere to full time schedule and overtime policies
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
